Graduation is a week from today, and honestly I'm really emotional about it, but as I was telling my mom why it all made sense.
For, the last four years of my life I have been living at the school six of the seven days. Putting so much energy, time, loss of sleep, loss of hair on my head, caring, and why because I wanted to make this school a better place. Growing up in a small town I didn't even really notice until I realized how involved I was. My high school isn't the biggest, but it's still a pretty good size for our area. I realized how I knew or recognized about every kid in my school, helping with the special needs kids, and seeing how much joy they brought, knowing personal things about my teachers, and being able to talk about how their date went, or how their kids are doing. Its the things like this that have made me so connected to my school. It is so bittersweet knowing I'm ready to leave, but at the same time this place was where memories were made, friendships began, laugher was heard, seeing couples down the hall, knowing / spilling all the tea, and gave me structure for at least 8 hours of my day.
I''m so blessed to have been in this community where I could go to school with people who changed me, and others. Class of 2019 of Snake River High School there is no one else I would rather graduate with. I'm so excited to see where life takes all of you, and the adventures a head. In a week at this time we will be partying like no other, and why because we deserve it. I love you all so very much!
